A personal favorite, Tannin offers amazing food, drinks and a wine list that is out of this world. Tannin’s atmosphere is modern, warm and relaxed and their service is top notch. Inquire about their tasting room for private events of 20 or less. Enjoy this local Kansas City gem.

The Westside Local ($$)
I just absolutely adore this gem hidden in the up and coming Westside Kansas City neighborhood. This is a cozy and a touch more casual destination which serves fresh farm to table selections. Additionally, TWL knows it’s beer serving an extensive list of craft brews to perfectly pair with your dinner selection. Inquire about their private upstairs dining room for larger groups.
When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s Garozzo’s. Arguably the best italian in the city, Garozzo’s brings you an authentic italian experience with cozy dining rooms, white tablecloths, and a who’s who wall of fame for famous visitors over the years. It's summer year round at Snow & Co! Known for the most unique selection of frozen cocktails in the country, Snow offers the pep of a cocktail lounge with the chill of a coffee house making it fun and family friendly. Whether you want to reserve a table or section for a private cocktail hour or just swing by for a spontaneous drink, the folks at Snow & Co will be sure to take excellent care of you.
For groups looking for an adventure and a step back in time, look no further than Manifesto. This 1920's era speakeasy is entered by a super secret entrance at the back of The Rieger Hotel. From there, you descend a staircase into a mysterious and highly elegant lounge where the cocktails delight and patrons mind their manners. The hight of class, Manifesto is a definite treat for grownups only. You will want to plan ahead and make a reservation for weekend nights. Note that this is a cocktail lounge only as their food menu is limited.
The lounge at Reserve is one of this town's best kept secrets. Generally a sleepy establishment, Reserve offers fantastic small bites (the deviled eggs are to die for!) as well as the most delightful cocktails. Let me not forget to mention the oh so classy ambiance. Reserve makes you feel like you have stepped off the street in Kansas City and into a 5th Avenue hotel. You will not feel out of place donning a wedding gown and suit.
Not just great for food, The Jacobson creates some killer cocktails with fantastic small bites to nosh on. The only disappointment here is that the meatballs only come in twos (I could honestly polish off an entire platter of these they are that delicious!).
Tap your feet...
Ok, this is seriously one of my very favorite places in KC. From the outside you would never guess that stepping through the front door would lead you back to the early 1960's in the best way possible. This is a warmly classy "bar" where the waitresses wear black cocktail dresses, and the bar tenders wear suits. The lounge is dimly lit with rich red walls and a copper ceiling. The music is always lively and fun with dancing at the front. Those wishing to drink and visit can find a table towards the rear. A private room downstairs can be reserved for private parties. I have enjoyed some of the best nights here with my dear friends and I'm sure you will too!
A Kansas City staple, The Phoenix is where the locals go to enjoy some down home KC Jazz. With some room to dance and a bar along the front of the piano, this place is oozing with memories to be made!
Located in The Alamo Drafthouse movie theater, The Chesterfield is frequented by locals as the place to go dancing. Ranging from swing to salsa, this dance floor is always full of folks gettin' their groove on.
Located in The American Jazz Museum, The Blue Room is mentioned in the history books as the key location where Jazz was born. This place is full of rich history and has been brought back to life by its museum neighbor. The perfect place to bring out of town guests, The Blue Room is a taste of a true KC experience.
I always have so much fun when I go to The Majestic. Make your way to the basement to the Jazz lounge for some fun and lively music. The crowd is always up for a good time here!
