The Rieger Hotel Grill & Exchange ($$)

This is a fast favorite for Kansas City loved for their fantastic food and fancy cocktails. The Rieger makes you feel like you have stepped back into the early 1900’s with its classy early century ambiance. Inquire about their private dining room which seats 36.

Cocktails!

Manifesto

For groups looking for an adventure and a step back in time, look no further than Manifesto. This 1920's era speakeasy is entered by a super secret entrance at the back of The Rieger Hotel. From there, you descend a staircase into a mysterious and highly elegant lounge where the cocktails delight and patrons mind their manners. The hight of class, Manifesto is a definite treat for grownups only. You will want to plan ahead and make a reservation for weekend nights. Note that this is a cocktail lounge only as their food menu is limited.

Reserve at The Ambassador Hotel

The lounge at Reserve is one of this town's best kept secrets. Generally a sleepy establishment, Reserve offers fantastic small bites (the deviled eggs are to die for!) as well as the most delightful cocktails. Let me not forget to mention the oh so classy ambiance. Reserve makes you feel like you have stepped off the street in Kansas City and into a 5th Avenue hotel. You will not feel out of place donning a wedding gown and suit.

The Jacobson

Not just great for food, The Jacobson creates some killer cocktails with fantastic small bites to nosh on. The only disappointment here is that the meatballs only come in twos (I could honestly polish off an entire platter of these they are that delicious!).

Tap your feet...

Green Lady Lounge

Ok, this is seriously one of my very favorite places in KC. From the outside you would never guess that stepping through the front door would lead you back to the early 1960's in the best way possible. This is a warmly classy "bar" where the waitresses wear black cocktail dresses, and the bar tenders wear suits. The lounge is dimly lit with rich red walls and a copper ceiling. The music is always lively and fun with dancing at the front. Those wishing to drink and visit can find a table towards the rear. We have enjoyed some of the best nights here with my dear friends and I'm sure you will too!

The Phoenix

A Kansas City staple, The Phoenix is where the locals go to enjoy some down home KC Jazz. With some room to dance and a bar along the front of the piano, this place is oozing with memories to be made!

The Chesterfield

Located in The Alamo Drafthouse movie theater, The Chesterfield is frequented by locals as the place to go dancing. Ranging from swing to salsa, this dance floor is always full of folks gettin' their groove on.

The Blue Room

Located in The American Jazz Museum, The Blue Room is mentioned in the history books as the key location where Jazz was born. This place is full of rich history and has been brought back to life by its museum neighbor. The perfect place to bring out of town guests, The Blue Room is a taste of a true KC experience.

The Majestic

I always have so much fun when I go to The Majestic. Make your way to the basement to the Jazz lounge for some fun and lively music. The crowd is always up for a good time here!
