For your ceremony

Welcome! In this section you will find answers about:

Meeting your Host and Officiant - Seating - Music - Vows - Unity Candle/Sand Ceremony
Paperwork - Processional/Recessional - Ceremony Order

Meeting Your Host and Officiant

All packages at The Vow Exchange include an event Host who will greet you upon your arrival. All packages include an officiant who will also greet you separately upon arrival.  You will not need to meet with your officiant prior to your wedding day, however you will meet with your officiant briefly before your ceremony on the day of your wedding. Additionally, due to the brief nature of the events at The Vow Exchange, we can not accommodate rehearsals. Your event host will assist with the ceremony by lining up and cueing your wedding party to walk down the aisle as well as playing the music for the ceremony. It is all very easy!

Seating

The Vow Exchange experience is designed for small and intimate wedding ceremonies. For this reason we have seating for up to 38 seated guests maximum. This does not include your wedding party, since they will not be seated during the ceremony or children under 5 who can sit on laps. We are not able to accommodate unseated guests unless they are in the wedding party due to fire code restrictions. Also, we want all of your guests to have a seat!

The atmosphere at The Vow Exchange is very laid back and relaxed. Our couples generally do not reserve seats & designate sides for seating, rather they leave it open allowing guests to sit where ever they are comfortable. We do have 2 "Reserved" signs that you may use, otherwise, you are welcome to bring your own seating signage if you choose. In some cases, couples choose to use an usher to escort guests to their seats.

Customizing your Ceremony

Upon completion of the questionnaire, you have indicated the elements you would like customized for your ceremony. Customized elements include options on:

Ceremony music

Ordinarily the host will play a ceremony entrance and exit song of your choosing and play our pre-built playlist of multi-generational love songs in the background for the rest of the occasion. Once you have chosen a song for your entrance and another for the exit, just let us know the name of the artist and title on iTunes. We will acquire it and have it ready to play on our system!

If you choose our "house" classical selections, we play:

"Jesus Joy of Man's Desiring" for the entrance music.

"Ode to Joy" for the exit.

Adding a unity candle or sand ceremony

You may choose to add a unity candle, sand ceremony or any ceremony element you would like. You will need to bring any necessary ceremonial elements (such as the candles, holders, sand, vessels, etc.) but we will provide ceremony wording (if you are using our officiant) as well as a table to set up the ceremonial elements.

Wedding Vows

If you are using our celebrant to officiate your ceremony, you are welcome to use either our vows or write your own. If you have indicated you would like to write your own on your questionnaire, just bring them along on the day of your wedding. We do not need them ahead of time. During the ceremony, the officiant will indicate when you are to read your vows.

Marriage Certificates

You can obtain the wedding license for the state you are married in - any Missouri county courthouse will work.  You must go to a Missouri county courthouse, both the bride and groom, with 2 forms of ID, no more than 30 days prior. Upon arriving to your event, just hand the certificates over to the host or officiant and they will take it from there!
